saatchi show

A new show at Saatchi looks intriguing, especially this piece. Beirut Caoutchouc is a large black rubber mat in the shape of Beirut’s current map, by artist Marwan Rechmaoui.

wesley auction - 18th february

So the auction of the work in the wesley project is fast approaching! The date is set for Wednesday 18th February at 6pm in the Special Collections Gallery, with special guest auctioneer Eric Knowles from BBC Antiques Roadshow.
All proceeds from the sale of the work will go to the Wesley so not only will you be able to experience an auction environment, get hold of some new artwork and meet Eric Knowles, but you’ll also be supporting the work of a wonderful charity in Manchester. I do hope you can make it.
To attend the auction you must pre register with Pat Kelly at p.kelly@mmu.ac.uk or telephone 0161 247 3096.
You can view or download the auction catalogue in advance, and you can see many of the ceramic pieces in the collection here, but the best way is to go and take a look at the show to see which pieces catch your eye!! With guide prices starting at £5, and a wide range of ceramics and photography, there is definitely something for everyone - both in terms of taste and pocket!!
